Datalogic PowerScan PD9630 Barcode Scanner (PD9630-ARK2)

The Datalogic PowerScan PD9630 is a rugged corded 2D handheld imager from Datalogic's PowerScan 9600 series, built for warehouses, manufacturing, automotive and logistics. It withstands 50 drops from 2.5 m onto concrete, is sealed to IP65 and IP67 against dust and water, and its trigger is rated for 10 million pulls. The multi-interface electronics connect via USB or RS232 (depending on the cable), and the scanner is backed by a 3-year (36-month) Datalogic warranty. This version, PD9630-ARK2, has Auto Range (AR) optics – a fast autofocus engine that reads from contact to more than 20 m, from the hand to the top rack, and is supplied with a coiled RS232 cable (K2 kit) – the external power supply needed for RS232 is not included.

Key Features

• Built for tough environments – withstands 50 drops from 2.5 m onto concrete (2.0 m at −20 °C), and the trigger is rated for 10 million pulls.
• IP65 and IP67 sealing – dust-tight and protected against water jets and temporary immersion, so the scanner can be cleaned and used in wet, dusty and outdoor areas.
• Auto Range (AR) optics – a fast 1D/2D autofocus engine reads from contact up to 20 m (100 mil Code 128) – a 13 mil EAN/UPC up to 3.2 m and a 10 mil Data Matrix up to 1.1 m – with a laser aimer that stays visible even in daylight.
• Clear good-read feedback – dual good-read LEDs, a loud adjustable beeper and vibration confirm every read, even in noisy warehouses.
• Balanced, ergonomic design – a low centre of gravity and a weight of only about 320 g reduce fatigue during all-day scanning.
• Multi-interface electronics – USB and RS232 on board: simply choose the matching PowerScan 9600-series cable – straight or coiled, from 2 m to 4.5 m, as well as powered USB and USB-C.
• Free configuration tools – set up the scanner with the Datalogic Aladdin utility, integrate it using the OPOS / JavaPOS utilities and extend cover with Datalogic EASEOFCARE service plans.

Ideal Applications

• High-bay warehouses – reading labels on the top racking levels from the floor or from a forklift, up to 20 m away
• Manufacturing and automotive – work-in-process tracking, parts traceability and quality control
• Warehousing and logistics – receiving, picking, cycle counting and shipping
• Loading docks, cold stores and outdoor areas – IP65/IP67 protection against dust and water
• Transport, postal and courier hubs – sorting and tracking parcels

Not sure which version you need? Choose SR for everyday 1D/2D scanning at short to medium distances, HP for a longer reach, tiny high-density codes and Digimarc, AR to read from contact to more than 20 m, DC for colour document and image capture, and DPX for direct part marks on metal and plastic. Kits ending in K1 include a coiled USB cable and kits ending in K2 a coiled RS232 cable; versions without a K suffix come without a cable.
