Datalogic PowerScan PD9630 Barcode Scanner (PD9630-HPK1)

The Datalogic PowerScan PD9630 is a rugged corded 2D handheld imager from Datalogic's PowerScan 9600 series, built for warehouses, manufacturing, automotive and logistics. It withstands 50 drops from 2.5 m onto concrete, is sealed to IP65 and IP67 against dust and water, and its trigger is rated for 10 million pulls. The multi-interface electronics connect via USB or RS232 (depending on the cable), and the scanner is backed by a 3-year (36-month) Datalogic warranty. This version, PD9630-HPK1, has High Performance (HP) optics – a longer reach of up to about 2.4 m, high-density codes down to 2.5 mil and Digimarc barcodes, and is supplied with a coiled USB cable (K1 kit), ready to plug in and scan.

Key Features

• Built for tough environments – withstands 50 drops from 2.5 m onto concrete (2.0 m at −20 °C), and the trigger is rated for 10 million pulls.
• IP65 and IP67 sealing – dust-tight and protected against water jets and temporary immersion, so the scanner can be cleaned and used in wet, dusty and outdoor areas.
• High Performance (HP) optics – reads 1D barcodes up to about 2.4 m away (40 mil Code 128), high-density codes down to 2.5 mil (1D) and 4 mil (2D), and Digimarc barcodes.
• Clear good-read feedback – Datalogic 3GL™ (Three Green Lights), the Green Spot projected onto the code, a loud adjustable beeper and vibration confirm every read, even in noisy environments.
• Motionix™ motion sensing – the scanner senses when it is picked up and is instantly ready to read.
• Balanced, ergonomic design – a low centre of gravity and a weight of only about 320 g reduce fatigue during all-day scanning.
• Multi-interface electronics – USB and RS232 on board: simply choose the matching PowerScan 9600-series cable – straight or coiled, from 2 m to 4.5 m, as well as powered USB and USB-C.
• Free configuration tools – set up the scanner with the Datalogic Aladdin utility, integrate it using the OPOS / JavaPOS utilities and extend cover with Datalogic EASEOFCARE service plans.

Ideal Applications

• Electronics and manufacturing – small, high-density labels on components and PCBs as well as longer-reach scanning in the warehouse
• Manufacturing and automotive – work-in-process tracking, parts traceability and quality control
• Warehousing and logistics – receiving, picking, cycle counting and shipping
• Loading docks, cold stores and outdoor areas – IP65/IP67 protection against dust and water
• Transport, postal and courier hubs – sorting and tracking parcels

Not sure which version you need? Choose SR for everyday 1D/2D scanning at short to medium distances, HP for a longer reach, tiny high-density codes and Digimarc, AR to read from contact to more than 20 m, DC for colour document and image capture, and DPX for direct part marks on metal and plastic. Kits ending in K1 include a coiled USB cable and kits ending in K2 a coiled RS232 cable; versions without a K suffix come without a cable.
