The Zebra DS8108-HC is the corded model of Zebra's premium DS8100 Series for Healthcare. Its industry-first disinfectant-ready Healthcare White housing withstands wipe-downs with the harshest hospital disinfectants and has concealed screw holes and seams where bacteria could hide, its megapixel sensor with PRZM Intelligent Imaging instantly captures dense, tiny, curved, damaged and on-screen barcodes, and its NICU-safe green LED aimer and Night Mode with Vibrate help keep patients undisturbed. The scanner is backed by a 5-year (60-month) Zebra warranty. This version, DS8108-HCBU2104ZVW, is a USB kit: the scanner plus a USB cable, ready to plug in and scan.

• NICU-safe green LED aimer – a highly visible, eye-friendly green LED aiming dot instead of a laser, so the scanner can be used throughout the hospital, including the neonatal intensive care unit.
• Night Mode with Vibrate – choose haptic/vibration feedback, the good-decode LED, an adjustable beep or the Direct Decode Indicator that projects the illumination onto the barcode; in Night Mode a quick press of the trigger toggles between beep and vibration, so patients are disturbed as little as possible.
• UDI Scan+ – scan the barcode on medical device packaging and the Unique Device Identification (UDI) data is automatically parsed, formatted and sent in the right order to the right fields of your EHR or other application – no manual data entry.
• Preferred Symbol and Multi-Code Data Formatting – on items with several barcodes, output only the barcode you need, or capture several barcodes with one trigger pull and send them in the order your application expects.
• Handheld or hands-free – place the scanner in the optional Gooseneck Intellistand and it switches to hands-free mode automatically – ideal in the lab and pharmacy.
• Plug and play – auto-host-detect cables select USB, RS232, Keyboard Wedge or IBM 46XX automatically. Uses the same Zebra cables as the DS4608, DS2208 and LS2208, supports more than 90 international keyboards and is FIPS 140-2 certified.
