The Honeywell Orbit 7190g is a compact, corded hybrid presentation scanner that combines the proven omnidirectional laser of the Orbit series with an integrated 2D area imager in a single housing. The 20-line laser pattern – 5 fields of 4 parallel lines at 1,120 scan lines per second – keeps pass-through scanning of printed 1D merchandise barcodes fast, while the imager reads PDF417 and 2D codes such as QR codes, including digital coupons, tickets and loyalty cards shown on customers' smartphones – so you no longer need a second scanner at the checkout. Thanks to its dual working modes, the scanner optimises itself automatically for cashier and customer scanning. The scan head tilts by up to 30°, and the scanner stands on its own built-in base – no separate stand needed – yet can be picked up to scan bulky items. Every Orbit 7190g supports USB, RS232, Keyboard Wedge and IBM 46xx with automatic interface detection: the interface is simply determined by the cable you connect. This version, 7190G-2, is the black scanner on its own – without an interface cable, ideal as a replacement unit or if you already have a suitable Honeywell cable; simply order the USB or RS232 cable that matches your system.
