The Brother TJ-4020TN is a 4-inch industrial label printer for manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, healthcare and retail sites that print labels in medium to high volumes. As a thermal transfer printer it uses ribbons up to 450 m long – with the ink coated on the inside or the outside – for durable, smudge-proof labels on paper and synthetic materials, and it also prints on direct thermal labels without a ribbon. It prints 203 dpi labels up to 107 mm wide at up to 254 mm/s, takes label rolls up to 203 mm in diameter on cores from 25.4 to 76.2 mm and connects via USB, USB Host, RS-232 serial and Ethernet as standard, while ZPL2, EPL2 and DPL emulation makes it easy to integrate into existing systems. This version, TJ4020TNZ1, is the 203 dpi model with LED status indicators and simple two-button operation – the straightforward choice for barcodes, shipping and product labels.

  • Built for industrial workloads – a compact printer only 248 mm wide that holds 203 mm label rolls on cores up to 76.2 mm, backed by Brother's 5-year warranty.
  • Thermal transfer with 450 m ribbons – 40–110 mm wide ribbons on a 1-inch core, with the ink on the inside or the outside: fewer ribbon changes and a wide choice of supplies; direct thermal labels work too.
  • 203 dpi at up to 254 mm/s – crisp barcodes and shipping labels at up to 10 ips across a 107 mm print width.
  • Flexible media handling – media 20–120 mm wide and 0.06–0.28 mm thick: continuous, die-cut, black-mark, notched and fan-fold, with gap and black-mark sensors.
  • Simple to operate – four icon status LEDs and a power LED show the printer status at a glance, with just two buttons (power and feed).

The TJ-4020TN and TJ-4021TN print at 203 dpi and up to 254 mm/s – ideal for barcodes, shipping and product labels – while the TJ-4120TN and TJ-4121TN print at 300 dpi for small text and fine 2D codes. The models ending in 1 add a 3.5-inch colour touchscreen.
