The Zebra SP20 is a compact, budget-friendly single-plane presentation (hands-free) scanner for POS counters, quick-service restaurants, convenience stores and specialty retailers. Its 1-megapixel imager with a wide 62° × 41° field of view reads 1D, 2D, Digimarc and GS1 Digital Link barcodes – on labels and on phone screens – as items approach the window, bright green guide lines show where to scan, and Zebra's Simple Setup Experience gets it running in under five minutes. The scanner is backed by a 3-year (36-month) Zebra warranty. This version, SP2002-SR00004ZZWW, is the scanner only – the interface cable and the stand are not included and need to be ordered separately.
📦 What's in the box – SP2002-SR00004ZZWW
- ✅ Zebra SP20 scanner – SP2002-SR00004ZZWW, Standard Range (SR) 1 MP imager, Midnight Black, with universal ¼″-20 mounting thread
- ❌ Adjustable stand – not included (optional)
- ❌ Interface cable – NOT included
⚠️ Please note: this version does not include a cable. The scanner cannot be connected to a computer or POS system without one, so please order an interface cable separately – for most setups the Zebra USB cable CBL-U20755-01 (2.1 m, angled connector) is the right choice. Alternatively, choose a version that already includes a USB cable (see the comparison table below).
💡 Want to angle the scanner towards your customers? Add the adjustable stand STND-AD0020-04 – it tilts from −14° to +30°. To fix the scanner to a wall, a counter or a kiosk, use the L bracket BRKT-LB0020-04 or the flange bracket BRKT-FB0020-04; the universal ¼″-20 thread also fits standard third-party camera mounts, clamps and poles.
Key Features
- Fits the tightest counters – at just 7.5 × 7.5 × 5.7 cm and 110 g, the low-profile SP20 leaves valuable counter space free for product displays and impulse items.
- Large field of view, no sweet spot – the 62° × 41° field of view (up to 80% larger than competitive models, according to Zebra) captures barcodes as they approach the window, so items don't need to be positioned carefully.
- Clear visual guides – bright green indicator lines on the scan window show customers and staff exactly where to present a barcode – easy even for first-time users.
- Reads every barcode, every time – Zebra scanning technology reads damaged, poorly printed and low-contrast barcodes as well as mobile coupons and Digimarc barcodes.
- Ready for GS1 Digital Link – the wide field of view captures both the 1D UPC/EAN code and the 2D Digital Link code on the pack; 123Scan configures GS1 Digital Link in less than a minute.
- Operational in five minutes – scan the QR code on the scanner with your phone and Zebra's Simple Setup Experience guides you through a tailored setup with a few yes/no questions.
- Flexible mounting – adjustable stand (−14° to +30°), L bracket, flange bracket and a universal ¼″-20 thread for third-party mounts; with dimensions similar to competitive products, the SP20 is a drop-in replacement for existing installations.
- Eye-friendly illumination – recessed deep red LEDs are gentle on the eyes and switch off automatically between scans, so they don't distract at busy checkouts.
- USB or RS232 – the scanner is powered over the USB cable, no power supply needed; for an RS232 (TTL) connection use the RS232 cable CBL-R20755-01 and, if your POS port does not supply power, the 5 V power supply PWR-WUA5V4W04C.
- Built for busy counters – IP52 sealing and elevated electronics protect against dust and everyday spills, and the scanner withstands multiple 1.5 m drops to concrete.
- Zebra DNA management tools at no cost – 123Scan, Scanner SDK, Scanner Management Service (SMS), firmware updates without losing settings and Remote Diagnostics; 3-year Zebra warranty.
Ideal Applications
- Quick-service restaurants (QSRs) and cafés – a compact scanner for crowded order counters
- Convenience stores and small grocery stores – fast hands-free checkout of paper and mobile barcodes
- Small and specialty retailers – reliable scanning without added cost or complexity
- Kiosks and self-service stations – stand, L-bracket, flange-bracket or ¼″-20 mounting
- Check-in, admissions and ticketing – reading e-tickets and QR codes from phone screens
- Mobile couponing and loyalty programmes
