The Datalogic Gryphon I GD4200 is a premium corded 1D linear imager that reads all standard 1D barcodes quickly and reliably – including high-density, low-contrast and damaged codes as well as codes on mobile phone screens – at distances of up to 90 cm. Every good read is confirmed by Datalogic's Green Spot and 3GL indicators, and the disinfectant-ready IP52 housing stands up to daily cleaning. This version, GD4290-WH, comes in white and is the multi-interface GD4290 model (USB, USB-C and RS-232), supplied as the scanner only – an interface cable is not included.

⚠️ Please note: this version does not include a cable. The scanner cannot be connected to a computer or POS system without one, so please order the interface cable for your host separately – for a USB port the Datalogic USB cable 90A052278 (white) is the right choice; for an RS-232 serial port choose e.g. the Datalogic RS-232 cable 90A051230 (9-pin female, straight, 1.8 m) (if the port does not supply power on pin 9, also add the Datalogic 12 V power supply 8-0935 with a power cord). Alternatively, choose the GD4220 kit, which already includes a USB cable (see the comparison table below).

Key Features
- 1D linear imager – reads all standard 1D barcodes, including GS1 DataBar, as well as high-density, low-contrast, poorly printed or damaged codes and 1D codes on mobile phone screens. Please note: it does not read 2D codes such as QR codes or Data Matrix; for those, choose a 2D model such as the Datalogic Gryphon I GD4500.
- Long reading range – up to 90 cm on 13 mil EAN/UPC and 147 cm on 20 mil Code 39, with resolution down to 3 mil and up to 400 scans per second.
- Soft line viewfinder – a clearly visible aiming line makes it quick to target the right barcode, even on crowded labels.
- Green Spot and 3GL feedback – a green light projected onto the barcode plus three green lights (3GL) on the scanner confirm every good read, even in noisy or dark environments.
- Motionix motion sensing – detects when the scanner is picked up and switches automatically between handheld and presentation (stand) mode.
- Multi-interface – USB, USB-C and RS-232 in one scanner, the interface is selected by the cable; 4.5–14 VDC input; easy setup with the free Datalogic Aladdin tool and OPOS/JavaPOS utilities.
- Disinfectant-ready and rugged – housing built for daily cleaning with harsh disinfectants, IP52 sealed and withstands repeated 1.8 m drops to concrete.
