The TE200 and TE210 share the same body, print mechanism and print quality: 203 dpi, thermal transfer or direct thermal, up to 152 mm/s and 108 mm wide. The difference is inside. The TE210 has much more memory, Ethernet, serial and USB host ports, a real-time clock, and support for a cutter and a peeler. Choose the TE200 for one PC over USB. Choose the TE210 for network printing, stand-alone use or cut and peeled labels.

    Choose the TE200 if
    • The printer sits next to one computer and connects by USB
    • You print shipping, product or office labels from a PC or label software
    • You tear labels off by hand and need no cutter or peeler
    • You want the lowest cost per printer
    Choose the TE210 if
    • Several users print to it over the network
    • You connect it by RS-232, or to a keyboard unit such as the KP-200 Plus for stand-alone printing
    • You store fonts, graphics or label formats in the printer, or print date and time from its clock
    • You want labels cut or peeled

    What both printers share

TSC covers both models in one user manual, so loading, calibration and troubleshooting are the same. Both take the same labels and ribbons, both calibrate with the FEED button at switch-on, and both are managed with TSC's free TSC Console. The optional external roll mount for rolls up to 214 mm on a 76.2 mm (3 in) core fits both. Our TE200/TE210 setup guide and calibration guide apply to both.

    Note

TSC ships network-capable printers in the EU with network connectivity blocked, to meet the Radio Equipment Directive. Before the first network connection, connect the TE210 by USB and set the PRTSecure security mode to Standard in TSC Console.

    TE series or DA series?

TSC's DA210 and DA220 are the same idea in a smaller body: a 203 dpi USB model and a networked model. They print direct thermal only, so they never use a ribbon. Choose a TE model if you need thermal transfer labels, for example for durable product or asset labels. See DA210 vs DA220.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the TSC TE210 a 300 dpi printer?

No. The TE200 and TE210 both print at 203 dpi. TSC's 300 dpi versions are the TE300 and TE310.

Is the TE210 faster than the TE200?

No. Both print at up to 152 mm/s (6 ips). The TE210 adds memory, interfaces and options, not speed.

Can I add Ethernet or a cutter to a TE200 later?

No. Ethernet is built into the TE210 only, and TSC's user manual lists the cutter and peeler kits for the TE210 only.

Can the TE200 or TE210 replace a Zebra printer?

Both run TSPL-EZD with Eltron and Zebra emulation. Test your own label formats before you switch.
